Preclinic
Q: When do I have to be at preclinic on the first day?
A: We ask that freshmen be in the band room, A-123 at 3:30 for a brief orientation! “Upperclassmen” will come later.
Q: Do I need to come to all pre-clinic rehearsals?
A: We ask and expect that you come to rehearsal when you’re physically in Northport. Pre-clinic is crucial to the success of clinic and the program overall!
Q: If I play a sport will I be able to participate in marching band?
A: Of course! We work out all conflicts with coaches! In some cases, makeup tests are needed, but they should NOT pose a problem in any way. The majority of band
members are on a school sports team. Even members of the varsity football team are a part of the band!
Q: How do I order clothing (Tigerwear)?
A: Mrs. Lindley, the Tigerwear coordinator, will be available during pre-clinic to take orders! There is a Tigerwear brochure on the "Schedule and Forms" page.

A: You and your friends decide who wants to room together and the directors do their best to fit everyone.
Q: When do my parents come to clinic?
A: On the last day (Saturday) of clinic at 2 p.m.
Q: What should I bring to clinic?
A: Check List / Sample Packing Items:
1. Your luggage and instrument must be tagged or taped with
NAME – DORM – ROOM – NORTHPORT
2. Only ONE piece of luggage is allowed.
3. NO LINENS will be provided. Beds are twins x-long
4. Pack your own towels, soap, toilet articles, sheets, pillow, and sleeping bag or blankets.
5. NO BARE FEET AT ANY TIME. Please pack for 2 pairs of socks per day, 2 pairs of sneakers for the field, and then shoes/flip flops for evenings.
6. All Marching Band Members need their BAND T-SHIRT AND BLACK SHORTS. Make sure to pack them. NO BAND SHOES
7. No visitors are allowed on campus AT ANY TIME.
Other items to pack:
HATS, SUNSCREEN, CHAP STICK WITH SUNSCREEN, MOLESKIN, BUG SPRAY, EMPTY WATER JUGS,
BANDAIDS, BANDANAS, ALOE, SUNGLASSES, LIMITED SPENDING $$.

During the School year
Q: What happens when school starts again?
A: Marching season continues until Hofstra. About midway through, audition music for the three concert groups are distributed and auditions will begin shortly after.

A: These auditions are very important, as this determines your seat for the concert season. Practice, practice, practice!
